I used them to replace the strings on a used Martin I picked up. The difference was dramatic. Not that the old strings were so bad but the improvement in tone and feel was very evident. They dont seem to be as hard on the fingers as other brands I have used. Must be something in the coating. I have since replaced the strings on my other acoustic guitars with these. Give them a try. My only knock on them, is that they seem to be a little slick. My fingers slip off the strings sometimes when I am doing a difficult chord. I have not had that problem in the past.
