To try and select Classic Rock songs and fit them on 1 CD is a nearly impossible task. But this is a fairly good representation of classic rock hits. I wish they used the original versions, though. For example, they use the shorter version of Smoke on the Water, and the shortened Intro is disappointing. But for 1 CD, this is OK.

There are no real hidden gems on this cd, instead there is a make up of classic songs that are regularly played on classic rock cd. I think of this edition of NOW as comfort food solid songs that almost appear as background noise as they are so familure. Playing this cd is like eating comfort food may not be the best but it feels good! Like other reviewers there are plenty of omissions but it is impossible to please everyone, this is a solid album with plenty of classics and covers alot of ground.

This great CD contains songs from the famed “arena rock” era; a time when rock and roll supergroups such as Styx and Kansas played to arenas full of screaming fans. Many great hits, including “Renegade” by Styx, “We Will Rock You” by Queen, “Carry on Wayward Son” by Kansas, and “Surrender” by Cheap Trick are included on this disc. Many times, one has to listen to a classic rock radio station to hear these forgotten classics. Now, thanks to this CD, many have been added together and can be played time after time.

I give this great disc my highest recommendation. As a fan of classic rock, I was glad to find a CD that contained so many of my favorite classic rock hits. I listen to this CD often, and I never get tired of hearing the thundering drums and searing guitars that made all of these songs so great. Put this great CD in the stereo and hear some of the best classic rock and roll from the 70s and 80s.
