What are the best exercises for beginner keyboardist?

As the beginners are not able to understand what they lack, that stops them from becoming pro in the art of keyboarding, they are up to continual assessments and at the flip end of these examinations they get irritated and discouraged.

Many eventually lose interest in the art, all due to their belief that they do not have the required skills and talents to meet the demands of keyboarding. And without the careful guidance of a perceptive instructor, they are bound to lose their initial fervor. The lack of proper exposure to the right environment also adds to the factors why so many sadly give up.

There are also many who have gone through this low point, who have recognized their mistakes early and corrected them accordingly. They hired instructors or took lessons, and now find themselves at the pinnacle of their careers. What qualities beginners need in large quantities are steady determination and single-mindedness in improving their skills. With these qualities, they will be noticing a healthy improvement in their skills before long.

So there must be some ways that are specific to improve the standards, which a novice should follow to see off the threat of lacking interest in this trade and walk towards the way of becoming a successful keyboardist.

1. Get the basic foundation for keyboard playing right

The most vital thing when it comes to initiating the proper grooming procedure to mold yourself into a keyboard pro is a usual matter of utmost importance-Being perfect with your hand postures. The keyboard flexibility training is said to offer more exposure in getting this perfection, as when the postures are wrong the output produced will be terribly distorted from the original output.

One common consequence of wrong posture is the amplification and inconsistency of the volume of the notes being produced. The heaviness of the fingers, is naturally to be blamed but this is actually caused by the wrong posture. So do not fall prey to bad habits and get the basics right by mastering the correct positioning of the fingers, hands and body.

2. Get a strong theoretical background in keyboard

Be strong in the theoretical concepts, as it will facilitate you to get proper understanding of the symbols of the note and many other subtle elements of keyboarding. Having a solid understanding of the musical sheet and its notes will instill the kind of confidence in you that will be apparent in your playing. Confident and accomplished keyboard players always attract the attention and admiration of the listeners.

You will be able to read and play any piece of music that you can lay your hand on, as you develop your skills in grasping the conceptual knowledge of theoretical keyboarding.

3. Be attentive

Try to be more responsive by developing the character to absorb every possible detail you get to hear. Of course this makes life easier for you on your road to improvement. Try opening up your ears, heart and mind to different genres to broaden your perception and awareness of the art of keyboarding.

If you are drawn to a certain genre, try to listen to as many songs as you can from that genre, that feature the keyboard primarily and prominently. Also, you can try to study a particular song from an expert composer and try to analyze that song for any innovations or special techniques that you can explore and inspire yourself with.

4. Metronome

Finally try to grasp the tempo of the song and have it registered in your mind. It is highly essential that you put the right emphasis on learning the tempo to avoid misrepresenting or inaccurately interpreting the song.

Metronome is what all the keyboard beginners look upon because of the ease that it provides in learning the intricate details of the song that you have started to practice. After the beginners recognize the exact composition they will be able to maintain the same tempo for the entire song and in this process will be overcoming the challenges, which were once unconquerable.
