How to choose a learn to play piano course.

Piano keyboard music lessons

The Problem:

Available online is a wide variety of information about learning to play the piano or keyboard.  Some websites offer formal courses. Some offer
free teasers to get you started.  Some may include music theory and history. Some are computer based, others are on DVD’s. Some are superior,
and some not so wonderful (as in, a waste of money.)  It’s a large and confusing subject with many products to choose from.  How to decide?

The Solution:

Having recently gone through this entire process,  I am presenting (reviewing) selected courses that I believe offer you good value for your money. I put a lot of emphasis on the customer testimonials in my reviews.

Two Cautions:

Carefully consider the guarantee and customer testimonials that usually are part of every product offering.  With a little digging, you can make an informed decision.

In case you haven’t experienced or realized this before, when you have decided and are going through the ordering process, be prepared for last minute choices. It’s normal marketing and should be expected.

It is exactly like being asked if you want fries and a coke with your food order at any fast food store. Also known as options – upgrades – etc. Perfectly normal. Think about ordering something on Amazon – they tell what other people also ordered, and you almost always pause and consider whatever it is. I’m mentioning it so you will be prepared, instead of surprised, and / or upset.   Some do – some don’t.

The Decision:

There is no simple single solution that fits everyone. The good news is that there is a solution just right for you at an affordable price.

You can learn, decide, and purchase here on the-piano-depot.com.The Learn to play piano course comparisons page has a column for each product. You can see critical information quickly. And each product has a detailed Review page with a link to the official product website.

I invite you to share your experiences here in my blog. A place to write your own review.  Over time, as more and more people participate, others will benefit.

I had some formal lessons as a child, but I’m really rusty. I think I’ll just bang away with some old music books I found at a garage sale.

  2. Phil Bell Says:

Jo, Hey, banging away on a piano keyboard is therapeutic – do it. At some point, you may wish to improve your skills. Time then to review the ‘learn to play piano’ courses available. Your in the right place. Have fun. Phil
